This two-day workshop is perfect for children who are curious about computers, internet and secret codes. They will learn in practice interesting computer and cryptography concepts in a fun and simple way with lots of hands-on activities!

The lessons will take place on Tuesday, 1 November and Thursday, 3 November. Choose which time suits your family best:

  • Morning group: Lessons from 10.00am to 12.15pm (GMT+1)
  • Afternoon group: Lessons from 1.00pm to 3.15pm (GMT+1)

Students will learn practical tips to stay safe on the internet and fundamental cyber security concepts like command line, cryptography (Morse code, Caesar cipher, Vigenère cipher) and much more. Popular applications of cryptography will also be discussed, including the classics Enigma and Bombe Machines, and the current cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

Morning group: Zoom lessons on the 1st and 3rd of November,  from 10.00-12.15am (GMT+1)

Hands-on Challenges: we encourage students to complete a 1-hour self-paced and self-directed hands-on challenge following the Zoom lesson.

All lessons and hands-on challenge resources can be accessed in our SMART Platform.

The registration for the workshop is per household. You can register two or more siblings with one booking.

Our Zoom lessons are video recorded and made available afterwards on our SMART Platform. So your children can watch the Zoom lessons in their own time at their own pace.

We especially designed the content and experience for children aged 8 – 12 years and a grown up. No previous knowledge is required for any of the subjects!

No! All you need is a computer, laptop or tablet where kids can watch the lessons on Zoom and access an internet browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Mozilla, etc).
