About
This masterclass is perfect for children who are curious about how the internet works. They will learn in practice how data is kept secure online. The lessons introduce computer basics and cryptography in a fun and simple way with lots of hands-on activities!
Zoom Lessons
Each day comprises of 2 hours of interactive lessons with a 15min break in between.

Who is this course for?
This camp is perfect for SMART Cookies who are love technology and are always interested in how everything works! They will get a chance to ask our experts all their questions.
Learning Outcomes
Students will learn practical tips to stay safe on the internet and basic cyber security concepts like command line, cryptography (Morse code, Caesar cipher, Vigenère cipher) and much more. Popular applications of cryptography will also be discussed, including the classics Enigma and Bombe Machines, and the current cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

It depends on which group you register for. You can between the two groups available when booking:
Morning group: Zoom lessons on the 1st and 3rd of November, from 10.00-12.15am (GMT+1)
Afternoon group: Zoom lessons on the 1st and 3rd of November, from 13.00-15.15am (GMT+1)
The registration for the masterclass is per household. You can register two or more siblings with one booking.
Our Zoom lessons are video recorded and made available afterwards. So your children can watch the Zoom lessons in their own time at their own pace.
Zoom Lesson at 10.00-12.15am (GMT+1):
- 10.00-11.00am Live Lesson with our enthusiastic expert instructors!
- 11.00-11.15am Break
- 11.15-12.15pm Live Lesson with our enthusiastic expert instructors!
Hands-on Challenges: we encourage students to complete a 1-hour self-paced and self-directed hands-on challenge following the Zoom call. Our campers are given the opportunity to present or comment on them the following day.
All lessons and hands-on challenge resources can be accessed in our SMART Platform.
We especially designed the content and experience for children aged 8 – 12 years and a grown up. No previous knowledge is required for any of the subjects!
